About the Journal
Aims & Scope
Archives in Food, Culture and Nutrition (AFOCUN) is a trilingual (english, portuguese and spanish) peer-reviewed and open access journal devoted to food from the perspective of the social and human sciences. Founded in 2023 as the Journal of the International Commission on the Anthropology of Food and Nutrition (ICAF), AFOCUN want to be a platform where food researchers can propose and publish interdisciplinary, transdisciplinary, and/or disciplinary (anthropological, sociological, geographical, historical, economic, etc.) social and cultural perspectives on food and nutrition.
Archives in Food, Culture and Nutrition (AFOCUN) is an official publication by the International Commission on the Anthropology of Food and Nutrition (ICAF). The
journal encourages social food researchers to publish original papers, but also review articles and reviews. All areas of interest are contributing to a better
understanding food in a broad term, and its implications for culture and society.

The names and e-mail addresses entered in this journal will be used exclusively for the purposes stated by the journal itself and will not be available for any other purpose or other person.
Ethics and good practices
This journal is a space that promotes discussion and reflection among scholars, and is committed to the purpose of ensuring the ethics and quality of the research presented in the
articles to be published.
Frequency of Publication
The publication of the issues occurs twice a year, in January and July. Contributions should be received throughout the year.
Anti-plagiarism policy
The editorial team of the Journal uses specialized software to detect coincidences, similarities, and plagiarism. Plagiarism is specifically prohibited in this Journal. Any detection of plagiarism will imply the invalidation of the submission. Likewise, the Journal reserves the right to act, if deemed necessary.
Peer review, double blind, and external evaluations
The Journal makes a peer review using a "double blind" process. Archives in Food, Culture and Nutrition (AFOCUN) works with external, independent, prestigious
evaluators.
Free and open access
Archives in Food, Culture and Nutrition (AFOCUN) is an open access journal, and does not charge fees for publishing.
